"Violina" is a beautifully restored C16th Tuscan Farmhouse in the valley below Cortona.
The farmhouse was originally built as a hunting lodge and is set in 13 acres of peaceful countryside with lovely views towards Cortona and the Tuscan/Umbrian hills. During the restoration, the house has been converted vertically into two completely separate houses; Rosa which sleeps 8 and Jasmina which sleeps 4.
Renovated and furnished to the highest standards the two villas are now offered as self catering holiday rentals. The villas Rosa and Jasmina can be rented together for large groups of family and friends or they can be rented independently by couples and smaller groups.
In total the entire farmhouse has six bedrooms (three double and three twin) and five bathrooms (two with showers, three with baths), so the house can accommodate groups of between 2 and 12 people.
Near to the house, set in the beautiful landscaped gardens, is a luxurious private14m x 7m swimming pool featuring Roman steps, travertine marble and antique brick and two beautiful pergolas for alfresco dining.
Violina is situated less than 15 minutes drive from the historic Etruscan town of Cortona. Within 1 hour's drive are Montepulciano, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Sienna and Orvietto and express trains to Florence and Rome can be boarded within a 5 minute drive. Trasimeno, the 4th largest lake in Italy, is 10 minutes drive away, where boat trips, wind-surfing, and child friendly beaches are found.
Our English managers, Alan and Netta, who are fluent in Italian, live a 10 minute drive away. As well as being on hand to greet guests and over see the smooth running of the farmhouse, Netta is happy to help with arrangements or reservations during your stay and, having lived in the area for many years, can offer advice on the best places to visit and explore.
